The Galati Electricity Distribution Branch is part of the Electrica Group. The Electrica Group is a company with majority private capital, listed on the stock exchanges in Bucharest and in London, being one of the main distributors and suppliers of electricity in Romania.
The Galati Electricity Distribution Branch embarked on an extensive process of modernizing its IT system, in order to improve the quality of the services it provides its customers.
The first step in this direction was to modernize the dispatching application by improving SCADA process visualization solution and increasing information security.
GBC participated in this project by executing the DDE project and implementing the solution to replace the SCADA video wall, the video wall controller and the entire related infrastructure, as well as by fitting out from an operational viewpoint the safety and security of the technical space.
The solution designed and implemented by us is the first ever in Eastern Europe of this high technological level, with respect to dispatching and monitoring applications. Characterized by consistency, reliability, wide viewing angle, wide color spectrum and the most compact design on the market, Sony CLED is the most advanced product in the field of micro LED technologies with 24/7 applicability.
The customized solution designed and implemented by GBC helped improve the monitoring process of the entire electricity distribution network subordinated to the Galati Branch of the Electrica Group by replacing the existing VideoWall system with a state-of-the-art one, micro LED technology-based one.
The integration of the Sony CLED video wall with the DataPath video controller made available to our customer the optimal solution for a simple and efficient monitoring, ensuring 24/7 reliability and providing operators with an intuitive way to control the system.
The refurbishment of the entire server room and of the auxiliary security and safety systems, together with the complete restoration of the IT and AV infrastructure, enhanced to the maximum the reliability of the implemented solution.

The installed fire detection solutions have the role of preventing possible incidents and limiting the damage as much as possible. For this purpose, GBC has chosen a technical solution provided by Schrack - the leader in the field - for the rapid detection of any incident. The multi-criteria sensors analyze, in addition to temperature, other determinants in the alarm triggering algorithm.
GBC holds the IGSU authorization number 8157 for the installation and maintenance of fire signaling, alarming and alerting systems and installations.
The solution designed and implemented by GBC included the building of the entire infrastructure for the integrated operation and management of the dispatcher.
